Graham County Schools is partnering with Graham County Health Department to implement a new evidence based curriculum for 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. 6th - 8th grade students will receive a curriculum called "Draw the Line - Respect the Line", this curriculum promotes abstinence by providing students with the knowledge and skills to prevent HIV, other STDs and pregnancy.
The program shows students how to set personal limits and meet challenges to those limits while also showing the importance of respecting others' personal limits. 9th grade students will receive a curriculum called "Reducing the Risk", this curriculum is designed to help high school students delay the initiation of sex or increase the use of protection against pregnancy and STD/HIV if they choose to have sex.
